High-Level Education And Training

Dr. Bass pursued a rigorous academic career, first earning an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and then graduating from medical school at Columbia University. He completed a full residency in general surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and then undertook his plastic surgery residency at NYU Medical Center at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery after which he completed a Microsurgery Research Fellowship there as well. Dr. Bass is double-board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery.

In the decades following his exceptional education, Dr. Bass has been published over ninety times in leading plastic publications, written and lectured extensively around the world, and presented his own research and aesthetic surgery techniques hundreds of times.

Some of his audiences include the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and Giants in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Symposium sponsored by Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital.

Dr. Bass was also an assistant professor of Plastic Surgery at NYU for over fifteen years. He is currently an assistant professor of Plastic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell where he enjoys spending time training the residents and fellows in plastic surgery to help produce the next generation of plastic surgery leaders.

He champions both surgical and non- or minimally-invasive aesthetic procedures and has overseen the Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery Program at NYU Medical Center. He co-chaired the multidisciplinary symposium Summit in Aesthetic Medicine for almost a decade. His research has resulted in multiple patents, and contributed to the development and FDA approval of more than a dozen products in widespread clinical use.
