Reduce & Contour

Take your balanced lifestyle even further. Love handles, back rolls, and unsightly or misshapen bulges can be impossible to eradicate in spite of healthy habits like a nutritious diet and regular exercise. For those with mild to moderate unwanted fat in select areas, CoolSculpting offers a non-surgical way to reduce fat and contour the area.

Using Cold Technology To Eliminate Fat

The hottest ticket in non-invasive fat removal is actually cold. CoolSculpting works by exposing subdermal fatty cells to cold temperatures. Fat cells that are exposed to cold are 'shocked', preventing a portion of them from regenerating. These cells eventually die, reducing the amount of fat present. CoolSculpting does not address skin laxity, nor is it a weight loss strategy. Instead, it reshapes select parts of the body. The most common areas are listed below:

  • Abdomen
  • Love Handles
  • Back rolls, or ‘bra fat’
  • Flanks
  • Thighs

The CoolSculpting Experience

Fat cells are particularly susceptible to cold, much more so than muscle or skin cells. In what’s known as cryolipolysis, CoolSculpting ‘shocks’ fat cells, which renders them unable to self-renew; this process is called apoptosis. The body then metabolizes the inert fat cells over the next couple of months.

During a CoolSculpting session an applicator is placed over a roll of skin and fat, and using gentle suction, it pulls the roll firmly against the cooling surface of the applicator. Using careful calibration, the area is subjected to cooling for a little over 30 minutes.  Each session typically includes two separate applications. Patients may experience a sensation of pulling or tugging, although this is mild. Many people read, scroll through their phones, nap, or watch TV.

No Downtime. No Compromise.

CoolSculpting is a completely non-surgical procedure that requires no anesthesia. There is no downtime, which means no disruption to your daily activities. Sometimes the skin may show temporary redness, bruising, or swelling, though this does not last more than a day or two.

Results You’ll Love

As the fat cells die and are processed out of the body over the next two to three months, the targeted areas will slim and assume a new, shapely and toned contour. Most patients see a modest reduction in surface contour or convexity.  CoolSculpting is not designed for substantial body contouring. For those desiring a more considerable change, liposuction should be considered.

Is CoolSculpting Right For You?

For those patients who are close to reaching their aesthetic ideal, CoolSculpting is often used as the final nudge to achieve their body goals. Other patients choose CoolSculpting because they don’t feel comfortable with a minimally invasive surgical procedure like liposuction.

With his Power of One approach, Dr. Bass carefully assesses each patient’s body and goals before creating a tailored beauty plan, of which CoolSculpting or other non-invasive solutions may be a part. Knowledge of a broad range of options allows Dr. Bass to find the right fit for each patient.
